SIA Interactive developed, at the request of Latinsphere Advertising, an interactive data capture system to promote Verizon’s Internet services among the U.S. Hispanic community.

In order to increase its presence on the Hispanic market, Verizon needed a solution that would help the company promote its Internet services (dial up, DSL and fiber optics) in an innovative, striking way. To achieve this, the company asked SIA Interactive to develop a solution to be used at the different Hispanic festivals held in the United States from May through December 2007.

The solution, the Verizon Video Data Capture, was installed on 20 laptops at each of the events. It consisted of a video sequence animation that was accompanied by a series of questions. As participants responded to these questions, different videos associated with the answer were displayed on screen. In addition, the system saved the data entered by participants for statistical purposes.

Thanks to SIA’s development, the client was able to include the slot machine designed previously by Verizon: this was installed on new PC tablets with data capture so that Verizon reps could move around at each event and get people’s information outside of the booth itself.

The public was very excited about the promotion and long lines of people waiting to participate soon formed. Participants got a chance to play the slot machine and find out more about the Internet services Verizon offers.

SIA gives us a whole different way to promote out products, offering interactive solutions that get people’s attention and entertain. This way, people give us the statistical information we need while they play and enjoy themselves. It has really made a difference in the way we advertise.
