SIA Interactive opened its affiliate office, SIA Chile, in the
city of Santiago. From 27 October to 2 November, the 5th International
Land Transport Trade Show 2003 was held in Santiago, Chile.
SIA Chile set up a multi-player truck race for Kaufmann S.A.,
official representative of Mercedes Benz in Chile.

With high attendance from industry specialists (transporters,
construction firms, agro-industrial companies, etc.), the
5th International Land Transport Trade Show was held at Parque
O'Higgins. The show boasted 120 expositors from 12 different
countries; more than 200 trucks and fifty buses were on display,
in addition to equipment, accessories, materials, and complimentary
transportation services.
Kaufmann S.A., official representative of Mercedes Benz in
Chile since 1952, presented the Kaufmann Challenge, a 3-D
multi-player race between two participants; players raced
a Mercedes Actros truck against a Freightliner Columbia on
a rally track.
For the race, SIA Chile installed the equipment and the SIA-MP1
multi-player engine on one of the trucks that
the firm had on display. Players sat on the actual truck seats
and watched the race on a flat 15" screen. An exterior screen
showed bird's eye views of the race to other visitors.
